We've been friends for the best part of forever and over the years we've individually made many recordings but ironically, the opportunity for us to go into the studio together never happened until now.  With no reason other than the desire to at last record, we went into the Watercolours studios (where esle?) and put together this eclectic collection of songs and tunes.  This album is a celebration of friendship and learning.  I hope you get as much enjoyment from listening as we did recording it.   Brian McAlpine.

''Ceilidh Minogue offer the Scottish dance music connoisseur a wider selection of flavours than usual to tempt the taste buds.  On this their introductory menu, the Minogues present the worthy haggis, neeps and tatties fayre of Burns, Gow and Pipe melodies, complemented by less familiar Scottish and Irish traditional dishes, all served up in a fresh style alongside some original recipes.  The ingredients?  Master tunesters Gregor Lowrey and Gavin Marwick provide zing on accordion and fiddle, Bob Turners piano and the guitar of Duncan Findlay cater for the most refined tastes in accompaniment, and Alistair Morrow's kit drumming is the uniquely meaty stock behind the Ceilidh Minogue sound.  Add a sprinkling of jazz horns to season, and the resulting musical mix should appeal to the discerning palate looking for a new variety of Ceilidh.  Grouse a l'Orange anyone?'' ...Kenny Fraser.

12..The Stripper

''You can tell by their name that this is not a po-faced band.  The tracks are all toe tappers, expertly led by Gregor Lowrey's accordion and Gavin Marwicks fiddle, and this classic piano / drums quartet is expanded by a guitar, banjo and a horn section, so by the finale - in the percussively driven 'The Stripper' - they sound like a Scottish Bouttine Souriante.  For the traditionalists there are a Barn Dance, a Circassian Circle, a Two Step and a Gay Gordons.'' ... Scotland On Sunday.
